The trio SAMFI is a unique collaboration between 2 young lions from the Gent jazz scene and Moussa Dembele, a musician with roots from Burkina who grew up in a griot family. Arno Grootaers (Dishwasher_) on drums and Sander Huys (EMY, Ventus) on bass create unique grooves together for the Kora and Balafon play of Moussa. From their different backgrounds, this trio finds each other improvising in a mixture of jazz, soul, and music from the Burkinese griot tradition.
