Bauke Meersman is a Belgian jazz musician known for his idiosyncratic, minimalist approach. Using circular breathing, he builds meditative soundscapes on saxophone and bass clarinet—sometimes even simultaneously. His compositions, characterized by irregular time signatures and repetitive structures, take the listener on an intense and evocative sonic journey.

Meersmans music is often described as industrial jazz, evoking associations with workers’ cafés and raw industrial environments. During live performances, Meersman strives for a spatial sound that feels both precisely composed and deeply human, actively engaging the audience’s imagination.

In early 2026, his self-titled debut album, Bauke Meersman , was released on vinyl.
